Lotte Chemical announced on the 29th that the “5th Partner Company Environmental Seminar” was held at Lotte World Tower in Jamsil on the 28th as part of efforts to promote environmental cooperation and mutual growth.

Since 2022, Lotte Chemical has been holding the seminar as a venue for practical policy training and information exchange to share domestic and international environmental regulations and sustainability management trends, helping small and medium partner companies effectively respond to environmental regulations.

This seminar was attended by more than 70 partner companies and covered the theme “Trends in Environmental Regulations for Sustainable Supply Chain Management,” sharing information on ▲individual environmental laws (recent Ministry of Environment policies and noted cases) ▲the voluntary reporting system of the Chemical Substances Registration and Evaluation Act (K-REACH) ▲understanding and utilization of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and certification systems ▲supply chain ESG support projects.

With recent trends in supply chain regulations in the EU and major countries, domestic companies are also required to prepare practical countermeasures, and transparent management and information disclosure across the entire supply chain, as well as prevention of greenwashing, have become key regulatory trends.

Park In-cheol, Head of ESG Management Division at Lotte Chemical, stated, “Major countries are gradually legislating or strengthening various environmental regulations and policies, including environmental and ESG management within the supply chain and eco-friendly advertising guidelines.” He added, “As corporate response becomes increasingly important, we will continue to pursue cooperative growth together with our partner companies.”
