Lotte Chemical receives 'A rating' in MSCI ESG evaluation for two consecutive years

■ Received an ‘A rating’ for two consecutive years in the environmental category from MSCI, the ESG-rating agency.
■ Awarded a gold rating for the Daesan plant and silver ratings for other sites from EcoVadis, a sustainability assessment agency.

Lotte Chemical has received an ‘A’ rating for the second consecutive year in the 2025 ESG evaluation conducted by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), a global ESG rating agency.

The MSCI ESG evaluation assesses companies based on their performance in three key areas: Environmental, Social, and Governance. It assigns ratings on a seven-tier scale from AAA to CCC, evaluating approximately 8,500 publicly listed companies worldwide each year by industry sector to reflect their overall ESG risks and opportunities.

Lotte Chemical maintained its ‘A’ rating this year following a strong evaluation in the environmental category, which carries the most weight in the chemical industry sector. In particular, the company was recognized for its tangible achievements in managing targets related to carbon neutrality and the development of a green ecosystem.

Lotte Chemical also performed well in the evaluation by EcoVadis, a global sustainability assessment agency. EcoVadis assesses over 150,000 companies in 185 countries, assessing their environmental and social impacts through a relative performance model. Its evaluation results serve as key indicators for global companies when assessing their supply chain partners.

EcoVadis evaluated Lotte Chemical’s improvement plans across four areas: environment, human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. As a result, the company’s Daesan plant received a Gold rating, while its other plants were awarded Silver ratings. The Gold rating, in particular, is granted only to the top 5% of companies globally.
